From your thankful dentist…
I am a thankful dentist.
With Thanksgiving coming up, we’ve been talking with our kids about what it means to be thankful: What and who are we thankful for? How can we show that we’re thankful to someone?
Almost six years ago now, we were sitting in our apartment above the Arctic Circle looking at Google Maps. The internet was slow, it was 30 below outside, our 1 year old had only met his grandparents twice, and we were trying to find a way to come back home.
As we talked and bartered, we found this little corner of South Carolina with the mountains and lakes that Amber loves, not too far from her Tennessee family and pretty close to my brothers and my family in North Augusta. We set our sights on Oconee County, and the little town of Seneca.
Now, as things often go, nothing went quite according to plan. No dentists in the area were ready to retire, and realistically we weren’t quite ready to settle down. We tested the waters in a couple of other places and spent a few years near our college home in Arkansas. But, as our oldest got ready to start school, we knew the time had come to settle down for good.
Enter Dr. Moore. After serving his patients and community for over 40 years, Dr. Moore was ready to retire and travel, and he had the perfect location – right where we had dreamed of ending up. So, we’re thankful.

Thankful for the opportunity to live here. Thankful for the the schools and community that have embraced us. Thankful for our team who serve our patients, keeping them healthy and smiling. Thankful for you… our patients, those who saw Dr. Moore for decades and those who have joined our patient family more recently… and our future patients who we have yet to meet.
Your thankful dentist,
Dr. Josh
